4.) What's Happened So Far?

Priority - (A to C)
Rating - (1 to 10) 1 if it's going poorly and 10 if it's going perfectly
Status - Not Started, Started, In Progress, In Progress - Ongoing, Completed

1.) Enlist my wife's support and assistance
Priority: A Rating: 9 Status: In Progress - Ongoing, Completed
Revealed the blog and my plan to my wife and asked for reaction. She was very positive and supportive. She said that she liked he idea, "it was well thought out and articulated".
Follow Up: Continue to solicit feedback and bring her along on outings

2.) Survey Library access
Priority: A Rating: 7 Status: In Progress
Budget cuts appear to really have had an impact on local libraries. The Henry Madden Library at Fresno State is the largest and nicest library in Fresno. Access is the most convenient and the safest. I already have a card. My wife has agreed to a Wednesday Night Library Night. We'll go to dinner and then to the library. Now it's only open until 8:00 PM. Visits will have to be well planned. Once school starts, 10:00 PM will be better.
Follow Up: Plan visit on Tuesday night. Ask about services and get books.

3.) Develop a TV/Movie Schedule
Priority: A Rating: 10 Status: Ongoing, Completed
A schedule is too confining and unnecessary. I am just walking away and it's working. Just having something else I want to do is "doing the trick."
TV Shows I am tired of watching: CSI and CSI: New York, Letterman, Bold and Beautiful, Grey's Anatomy, New Adventures of Old Christine, Lost, most News broadcasts, most Sports broadcasts
TV Shows I still want to watch: CBS Sunday Morning, NCIS, VH1 Top 20 Countdown, The Mentalist, Medium, The Universe, 60 Minutes, V, Science Channel, NASA Channel
Follow Up: Review and revise the list, keep walking away, less re-watching of movies.

4.) Research "Fortress"
Priority: B Rating: 8 Status: In Progress
Visited wegpage and wiki and read the FAQ and Quick Start Guide. It's a steep learning curve, but I learned HTML and JavaScript before there were editors. Downloaded the opensolaris 2009.06 Live CD.
Follow Up: Install and implement opensolaris and Fortress

5.) Learn to use TomBoy notes online, or something similar.
Priority: A Rating: 3 Status: Completed
Experimented with synchonizing Firefox Bookmarks with Ubuntu One. Messed around with storing bookmarks in an HTML format in Google Docs. Burned half of a day, but was reminded to: "Keep it simple stupid!". I will keep all my bookmarks and notes on this blog.
Follow Up: None

6.) Investigate Adult School, Community College, State College and online classes.
Priority: A Rating: 8 Status: In Progress
My impression of of the Fresno and Clovis Adult Schools is that they are geared to more of a high school level. I'm rusty, but not that rusty. I am thinking that a formal school setting will require too much time, energy and money. Needs more research.
Follow Up: Continue, create your own program of study

7.) Regular, scheduled diet and exercise to keep the energy level up.
Priority: A Rating: 7 Status: In Progress
Did some stretching and callisthenics this morning. Ate a light healthy lunch. Refraining from alcohol and sweets.
Mon, Wed, Fri - Stretching and Callisthenics
Tue, Thu - Stretching and Weights
Sat - Stretching and Martial Arts
Mon through Fri - Ride bus to work, walk part of the way home, (about a mile)
Follow Up: Monitor weekly

8.) Find out if there is a local astronomy club.
Priority: B Rating: 1 Status: Not Started
Follow Up: Start research

9.) Find websites and resources online. Store your bookmarks online.
Priority: A Rating: 8 Status: Ongoing, Completed
Follow Up: None

10.) Obtain and use an "always on" internet access device.
Priority: B Rating: 1 Status: Not Started
Follow Up: Start research

11.) Assess where you are now. Find and take a Math and Science Placement Tests.
Priority: B Rating: 1 Status: Completed
Unnecessary, for Math start where I left off: Algebra, for Science, start at the beginning.
Follow Up: None

12.) Ergonomics
Priority: A Rating: 1 Status: Not Started
Money is tight right now, on hold.
Follow Up: Start research

13.) Income
Priority: B Rating: 1 Status: Completed
Starting a business at home will require too much time, energy and money. It will be a distraction. I already have an income.
Follow Up: None

My next blog entry: "opensolaris and Fortress".
